Spiritual Gifts

Every believer’s gift is centred on Christ. It is Him alone who gives the gifts. Unfortunately, men appoint people into offices that differ from their training and this result in poor output. This scenario is also observed in the church but God makes no mistakes in allotting spiritual gifts. Christ alone possesses the gifts and gives them to men for their benefit and to enhance the church. Kindly note that church offices are not gifts of the spirit. A General Superintendent, Bishop, etc are not spiritual gifts but church offices.

They Sat Where You Sit – Bishop O. C. Dominic

As a man, would you give your wife to a rich man in exchange for money because you are hungry? Assuming that you do that, do you think that God would ever see you as a great man. Do you know that Abraham did that? And he was called ‘the father of faith’. David took another man’s wife and made sure her husband died, yet he was called ‘a man after God’s own heart’. What was the secret? The Holy Spirit.
The people of the old underwent what we are undergoing now – they sat where we are sitting – but were used by the Holy Spirit to do exploits. No matter what we are facing, we too can be used by the Spirit to do exploits.
Do you know that the Holy Spirit is not just for pastors and evangelists only or just for speaking in tongues or ministration? He can help you in your business, or skills; whether you are a carpenter, or a mason or an architect or a medical doctor or a mechanic.

ASCENSION

Ascension is the act of rising to an important position or higher level. Jesus’ ascension means that He has risen to a position of higher authority, into God’s right hand. He had some unfinished business after the cross and needed to go down into the earth to finish it up. He then resurrected, interacted with His disciples and walked the earth for forty days, declaring His dominion and His finished work before He ascended. His ascension indicates He will descend and assures us we too will ascend.
